Normal Vaginal Delivery
R18,500Standard professional fee for a vaginal delivery.
Emergency Caesarean Section
+R3,500Additional surgical assistant fee, charged only if an emergency C-section becomes necessary.
BMI Modifier (BMI > 35, unscheduled C-section)
+R3,0000018 BMI modifier per medical aid billing regulations. Typically reimbursed at the higher tariff.
Tubal Ligation at C-section
+R4,500Sterilisation performed during a C-section (elective or emergency). Partial reimbursement may apply.
Payment Process
For Childbirth
- 1At approximately 32 weeks' gestation, you will receive an invoice for your delivery fee.
- 2Payment is required before your expected delivery date.
- 3A receipt will be issued once payment has been received.
For Elective Gynaecological Surgery
- 1Once your procedure has been booked, an invoice will be issued.
- 2Payment is required before the scheduled surgery date.
- 3A receipt will be provided for medical aid submission.
Following your birth or surgery, a detailed statement will be issued for submission to your medical aid. Any reimbursement from your medical aid will be paid directly to you. For an estimate of your expected co-payment, our reception team will gladly provide the relevant procedure codes so you can obtain a benefit quote from your medical aid before your procedure.
Co-payments
Most medical aid members can expect a co-payment for childbirth of approximately R14,000, depending on your plan. Gap Cover often covers this once your medical aid has processed your claim. Gynaecological surgery may also attract a co-payment depending on your scheme and benefits.
Medical Aid
HealingHER operates as a cash practice — fees are paid upfront and reimbursed directly to you by your medical aid. We are directly contracted with Discovery Health, GEMS, POLMED and Momentum. Patients on all other schemes are warmly welcome.
Claims Assistance
HealingHER works with Vericlaim, our specialist medical billing partner. If you experience delays or difficulties with reimbursement, Vericlaim will gladly assist in resolving your claim.
Patients on all other medical aid schemes are warmly welcome. Accounts are settled directly with the practice and claimed back thereafter.
